Vicinity Candles is local to Chicago and run by Annie and Steve Inacker. They are a husband and wife team who met in the city and live in Lincoln Park with their baby, Stephen, and dog, Augy.

In the summer of 2020, Annie started pouring scented candles in her kitchen as a Covid lockdown hobby. Before she knew it, she was making more than her friends and family could burn through. Thus, Vicinity Candles was born. Channeling Annie’s passion for design and love of the city, Vicinity creates candles inspired by the unique neighborhoods and rich history of Chicagoland. 

From the start, Annie worked to make the Vicinity brand authentic and full of Chicago pride; made in Chicago by people that love the city. The business started in a kitchen in Lakeview, moved to an art studio in Avondale, and landed in a studio space in Wrigleyville.

At that point, Steve committed to the family business (as he likes to call it) full-time. If you own a Vicinity Candle, there is a good chance he poured it.
